Chong Sadao was once a historic battlefield during the Nine Armies War. Today, it has become a vital area where wild elephants frequently descend from the forest in search of food near the community.

In response, the local people have embraced forest conservation and restoration efforts to ensure that the elephants' natural food sources remain abundant. These efforts also help secure a water supply for the village during the dry season.

When forest food becomes scarce in the dry months, the community's tiny allies — native stingless bees — step in to help. These bees play a unique role as a natural "fence," helping deter elephants from encroaching too close to farmland and homes.
