Description

Khlong Ta Ja is a community in Samut Songkram Province located on the Mae Klong river side. This is the destination where you will get to learn the way of life of coconut farmers from 3 different religions - Buddhism, Taoism and Christianity. With local wisdom, the locals are able to make use of coconuts. They eventually have successfully turned their hometown into an attractive tourist destination and earn money from coconut products. During the trip, you will enjoy tie-dyeing using natural dyes from mango and lychee leaves. Then, let’s experience the best taste of the gelatinous coconut of Klong Ta Ja. After that, enjoy your relaxing time at Amphawa Floating Market where you will see the way the locals live and also antiques in the Amphawa Floating Market Museum.

Day 1

10.00 AM

Meet at Baan Mai Chai Lane Resort. Let’s start the tip with the mangrove planting to protect shorelines and increase habitats for young marine species. 

10.30 AM

Hear the story of the community’s eco-activities and find out why mangrove forests are so important here. Then, take a boat ride to see the lush mangrove forests and learn how to fish in a traditional way. After that, let’s plant young mangroves together. You can spot wild crab-eating macaques on mangroves all the way.

12.00 PM 

Have lunch like a local at a hut on the sea. 

01.00 PM

Have fun sliding around on a wood board across the mud, Kayaking or swimming in the sea. Enjoy taking photos! 

02.00 PM

Return to Baan Mai Chai Lane Resort for a shower. 

03.00 PM

Arrive at Kaset Suan Nok Community Enterprise, Khlong Ta Ja. Have some delicious local snacks before meeting the local members who will tell you the story of their community. 

04.00 PM

Check in to the homestay and leave your luggage there. Leisure time. 

06.00 PM 

Enjoy the homestay’s signature dishes.

Have breakfast.

Tie-dye fabric using natural dyes from coconut husk and lychee leaves.

Visit a coconut farm. Take a rowing boat trip through the farm and try coconuts fresh from the trees. Learn how to peel a coconut like a local

12.00 PM

Have local dishes for lunch. 

01.30 PM 

Let’s learn Ban Khlong Ta Ja’s local wisdom through local activities. 

  • Make a cold-pressed coconut oil treatment Lip balm. 
  • Learn how to make EM, organic odor spray eliminator using local ingredients.  
  • Learn how to make various local snacks. 

03.30 PM

Explore the community of 2 religions - Buddhism and Christianity. 

  • Travel to the Nativity of Our Lady Cathedral, Bang Nok Kwaek. 
  • Listen to the story of the community from the Cathedral’s communicator. 
  • Go to Wat Charoen Sukkharam Temple to pay respect to the Buddha statue of Luang Phor Toh enshrined inside. 

04.00 PM 

  • Return to the accommodation. Leisure time.

Experience the Chef’s Table style dinner.

Have breakfast at the accommodation.

Visit Wat Bang Kung Temple which once was a navy campsite. The temple is famous for its sanctuary covered with the roots of 4 different trees with the Buddha statue of Luang Phor Phuttha Nilmanee, also known as Luang Por Bode Noi, enshrined inside. 

Let’s continue inside to admire the beauty of mural paintings since the late Ayudhya period presenting the Bhudda’s stories. Then, visit the statue of King Taksin and a small zoo in the temple. 

11.30 AM 

Have lunch at Runjuan Restaurant in Amphawa. 

02.00 PM

Arrive at Amphawa Floating Market, a famous destination among Thai and foreign visitors. The market starts in the evening. You will see local sellers row their boats slowly to sell food, fruits, vegetables, snacks and local products to local people and tourists. 

04.00 PM 

Return home safely.

As most of our tours are customized tours with the local communities, we require at least 14 days to arrange everything with the local communities. The local communities also need time to prepare all the activities and buy necessary materials and ingredients as well as arrange the schedule of the people in the community. Thus, we need times to coordinate all the necessary things in order to do our best for you.

All our tours are decided to be personalized and customized based on your needs so they are required times to arrange and set up all the logistics and details for smooth operation. However, we have joined tours that you can join but these are based on the minimum travelers that will be on the tours, which sometimes there might be last minute cancellation. You can check by Chat (Provide link to Chat) with our travel consultants for the available seats for these joined tours.

We have two different types of tours which are customized tours and joined tours. For our customized tours, our travel consultants will help you with any need that you want. However, the price of these tours will be different based on the numbers of people on this trip and specific needs that you may have. At the moment, the price for adults and children are the same because all the activities are the same for adults and children. The exceptions are with toddlers or children that cannot participate in the tour activities yet.
