Nature Tours in Thailand with a Local Guide
A trip to Thailand wouldn’t be complete without experiencing the jungles, mountains, rainforests and nature of this rich and diverse country. Local Alike offers a variety of tour packages that will introduce you to the natural world of Thailand. Here are three examples of the amazing tours we can offer.
FAQs For Tour Packages
As most of our tours are customized tours with the local communities, we require at least 14 days to arrange everything with the local communities. The local communities also need time to prepare all the activities and buy necessary materials and ingredients as well as arrange the schedule of the people in the community. Thus, we need times to coordinate all the necessary things in order to do our best for you.
All our tours are decided to be personalized and customized based on your needs so they are required times to arrange and set up all the logistics and details for smooth operation. However, we have joined tours that you can join but these are based on the minimum travelers that will be on the tours, which sometimes there might be last minute cancellation. You can check by Chat (Provide link to Chat) with our travel consultants for the available seats for these joined tours.
We have two different types of tours which are customized tours and joined tours. For our customized tours, our travel consultants will help you with any need that you want. However, the price of these tours will be different based on the numbers of people on this trip and specific needs that you may have. For our upcoming joined tours, please see the schedule on our Upcoming Tours page.
At the moment, the price for adults and children are the same because all the activities are the same for adults and children. The exceptions are with toddlers or children that cannot participate in the tour activities yet.
Trekking in Ban Mae Mae, Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai
Ban Mae Mae, Chiang Dao District, is in the Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary, an area near Chiang Mai that offers lush jungles, panoramic views, and lots of birds and wildlife. The region is also home to the Ban Mae Mae loop trail. This 4.3-kilometer loop trail is a moderately challenging route that shows the best of Thailand’s northern mountainous area. We’ll also visit a picturesque waterfall along the route, where you can rest and cool off.
This 2-day guided jungle and forest trekking tour of the Ban Mae Mae loop trail is best suited to experienced hikers looking to explore the northern area of Thailand. The tour starts and ends in the town of Ban Mae Mae. The best time to book this tour is from June through February.
Star-gazing and BBQ Experience in Bananaland, Loei province
Bananaland is a community in the Phu Ho mountain area of Loei province. It overlooks Phu Ho Mountain, also known as Fuji Thailand, in Phu Pa Po National Park.
Bananaland offers a simple but unique nature experience package, a tour of the heavens from a mountain in Thailand. The high altitude and absence of light pollution allows a spectacularly clear view of the sky. The locals will give you a tour of their organic garden and host an eco-print workshop where you can transfer the images of leaves and other natural materials onto cloth or paper as a memento of your trip.
Next up, it’s time for a Thai-style barbecue where you can sample the best of northern-style cooking. Then, as the skies darken, lean back and spend a few hours gazing at the majesty of the stars and the Milky Way. You’ll spend the night in Bananaland and depart the next morning after touring a local temple.
Whitewater Rafting and Reforestation Experience on Petchaburi River
Take a trip on the water and enjoy the spectacular view while you negotiate exciting whitewater sections of this river located just a couple of hours’ drive from Bangkok. You’ll also be able to explore a riverside community along the way that makes its living by coconut farming. Learn how they make seed bombs and sow the seeds by launching the seed bombs from a slingshot. You’ll also get to sample their award-winning Thong Muan (crispy coconut rolls).
The campground is right next to the river. You can bring your own food to BBQ or arrange food from the local community nearby. You can also drive yourself from Bangkok, or we can arrange for round-trip transportation.
