Arrive at Wat Bang Nam Phueng Nok, an old temple in Bang Nam Phueng Community located in the Green Lung Bang Kra Chao and receive a warm welcome from the community members.

At Baan Bang Nam Phueng Community Learning Center, the community leader is ready to greet everyone and tell the story of the community and Bang Kra Chao. Most people know Bang Kra Chao as the hidden oasis of the city, but this is the destination where you can learn the culture and enjoy authentic cuisine as well!

Let’s explore Bang Kra Chao by bike! Ride to Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park And Botanical Garden or ‘Suan Sri’. This is one of Bang Kra Chao’s landmarks with an area over 200 Rai. You will enjoy biking around in verdant greenery.

Bang Nam Phueng is a community in Bang Kra Chao well-known for the Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market. This market is perfect for those who love local vibes. There are plenty of local products such as fruits, food and crafts. Have lunch at the floating market.

Take a bike ride to Baan Bang Nam Phueng Community Learning Center and Wat Bang Nam Phueng Nok, an old temple in the community. Continue riding on the bike route to ‘Thanon Morakot’ which is the green pathway beautifully painted with colorful flowers. Then, it’s time to enjoy fun local activities!
Learn how to make a small basket from nipa palm leaves.
Try making ‘Kanom Tuay’ or Thai coconut milk custard.

Listen to the story of the community. Back then, most tourists usually passed by Bang Kor Bua to other famous destinations such as Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market and Suan Srim so Bang Kor Bua earned nothing from tourism. The locals then decided to start community-based tourism presenting their local wisdom like massage and herbs to attract tourists and also work with Wat Chak Daeng Temple on waste management in the community. Now, the community gains profits from tourism.

Enjoy local activities in the community.
Make a herbal compress ball.
Tie-dye fabric using natural dyes.
Enjoy a boat ride through a nipa palm tree tunnel and pick up rubbish along the canal before walking up to watch the view of Chao Phraya River.

Try the authentic ‘Miang Gleeb Bua’, which is a fresh lotus flower petal wrapped appetizer, and freshen up with a cool Bilimbi drink. Enjoy local dishes cooked by the locals for lunch.

Visit Wat Chak Daeng, a temple well-known for producing monk robes from recycled plastic bottles. Learn how Wat Chak Daeng manages waste such as sorting plastic bottles to be recycled for the monk robe production, making a monk robe from used fabric and composting food waste.

Freshen up with a cup of coffee at the temple.
Enjoy planting seeds and painting a plant pot made from recycled foam collected in the river. Once done, you can keep them as souvenirs.

Have lunch at Bangkok Tree House.
