You will be meet your guide at BTS National Stadium Station, exit 2 on the street level. The local guide will lead you to visit lively Chinatown Bangkok by Bus. Set off on foot to explore this historic area’s shops, temples, and markets. Start by walking along the Song Wad Street, which is full of wholesale products/goods. Then go through the ‘Sampeng market’, the first wholesale market in Bangkok.
Continue your walk cross Yao Wa Rat Street where it feels like the jewelry trade center. You will see the endless rows of gold, jewelry and accessory stores. Then we will walk through a small alley and arrive at the Chinese herbs market. Why you are here why not try an authentic herbal drink?
Then cross the first street of Bangkok, Charoen Krung Street to visit Wat Mangkon Kamalawat, the most important Chinese Buddhist temple in Bangkok. Here learn about the beliefs and faith of Thai-Chinese people.
Then we walk down a narrow alley off Bangkok’s oldest street and discover more about the Chinese community. The people of the Charoen Chai Community have handcrafted traditional Chinese joss paper products for over a century. These include the shiny gold and red envelopes used for gift-giving during Chinese lunar new year, yellow flags and food trays that mark the annual vegetarian festival, and the elaborate paper offerings that grace traditional Chinese funerals.
