Set at the confluence of the Can Tho and Hau river, and crisscrossed by tributaries, canals and waterways feeding life into the region like veins, Can Tho is the political, economic, cultural and transportation centre of the Mekong Delta. Thanks to its tremendously fertile soil, Can Tho is one of the largest agricultural producers in the Delta, often referred to as Vietnam’s rice basket, and has a poetic beauty with well-off villages nestled under shade of coconut trees.

This half-day tour is designed for those who have limited time but wish to fully experience the beautiful landscape, friendly people and rich culture of the Mekong Delta. It includes selected highlights of the region but will be delivered to you through different angles and fun activities such as cycling and boat rowing. Join us for a unique and authentic rustic experience in the agricultural heartland of Vietnam.

2.30 p.m. You will be picked up at a designated point to embark the tour. We will then cycle to visit a blacksmith family and see how they make knives manually and have a chance to make friends with local people. Then, we will learn how to make banana cakes and cycling around Nhan Ai Island to visit the “monkey” bridge (narrow bridge made of bamboo) which local people use to cross the canals daily and learn how local people cross the bridges. Stop at a local farmer’s house to savor a cup of tea and coconut water. You can try picking fruits at the host’s garden and talk to him to understand how local farmers take care for their gardens. Saying goodbye to the hospitable host, you will cycle back to the meeting point. End of tour at 5.30 p.m
