This overnight package offers visitors the opportunity to interact with, learn about, and understand the elephants, Mahoot and local people on a deep, personal level. Gain a thorough insight into life in the camp with an immersive overnight stay, and witness the breathtaking jungle scenery as you explore the local area at your own pace.
Day One
8 am - 8.30am Pick up from your hotel or accommodation. 8.30 am Drive approximately 1.5 hours outside of Chiang Mai through rural landscapes, agricultural areas, and forested hills. 10.30 am Arrive at the Sanctuary. Meet your guide and walk for 10-15 minutes through the Jungle to the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary. Change into traditional Karen clothing. Enjoy an introductory lesson about elephant anatomy, history, and behavior. 11 am Meet the elephants. Feed, interact, and play with the elephants in their natural home as you learn about their behaviour and history. Take photos with the elephants. 12 pm Enjoy a lunch of traditional Thai food and fresh fruit.
1 pm Learn how to make herbal medicine balls, which is good for the Elephants digestive system. 2 pm Walk with the elephants to the river. Bathe and brush the elephants. 3 pm Join the elephants for a therapeutic mud spa. Swim in the river and take photos with the elephants. 4 pm Change clothes and get ready to trek to your accommodation to stay overnight.
Day Two
9 am Wake up in the morning, enjoy coffee/tea and a delicious breakfast of locally sourced organic foods. 10 am Join half day morning group and trek for approximately 30 mins through serene, rural and jungle landscapes. 12 pm Enjoy a lunch of traditional Thai food and fresh fruit at the waterfall.
1 pm Trek to visit 2 more Elephant Jungle Sanctuary camps, pass by an organic farm and enjoy time with the Elephants. 2.30 pm Return to Chiang Mai and get dropped off at your accommodation around 4 pm.
