The Royal-Initiated Pak Phanang River Basin Development Project was founded to prevent the deterioration of the Pak Phanang Basin covering 3 provinces namely Nakhon Si Thammarat, Patthalung and Songkhla for better environment and livelihoods of the locals. Baan Laem Community which is a small village of Thai Muslims best represents how a quality life can be achieved as long as everyone cares about the environment.

10.00 a.m. Visit the City Pillar Shrine and See the remains of the red-brick ancient city walls.
12.00 p.m. Have lunch. Try Thai Southern style rice noodles.
1.00 p.m. Travel to the Royal-Initiated Pak Phanang River Basin Development Project.
2.00 p.m. Learn how the project resolves seawater intrusion to help local farmers and maintains ecological balance.
● Visit the Royal Residential Hall of Pak Phanang.
● Visit the museum to learn about the project.
● Visit Uthokwipat Prasit Watergate.
4.30 p.m. Travel to Baan Laem Homestay Conservation Group.
5.30 p.m. Learn how the group raises environmental awareness among the villagers to encourage everyone to preserve natural resources in Baan Laem. Go to the homestay and enjoy leisure time.
6.30 p.m. Have home-cooked seafood dinner.
7.30 p.m. Goodnight.
5.30 a.m. Take a boat ride into Aow Thongkum or the Golden Bay.
● Build fish and crab habitats.
● See how local fishermen catch fish in the morning.
● Sip a hot cup of coffee while watching the sunrise. Enjoy oily rice with curry and sweet sticky rice with Thai custard.
● Have a premium mud spa treatment in the Golden Bay.
● Grow young mangroves in flat muddy ground.
9.30 a.m. Go back for a shower.
12.00 p.m. Enjoy lunch. Signature dishes at Baan Laem community, charcoal rice with fresh seafood and signature dishes like deep fried mangrove leaves.
1.30 p.m. Explore the village by riding a bicycle.
● Learn how to make curry paste and shrimp paste.
● See how the locals weave palm leaves for a living.
● Visit a mulberry farm.
3.30 p.m. Leave the village for the city center.
4.00 p.m. Check into hotel and enjoy leisure time.
6.30 p.m. Have dinner.
7.30 p.m. Travel back to the hotel.
8.00 a.m. Have breakfast.
10.00 a.m. Visit Suchat Subsin’s Shadow Puppet House to learn more about Nang Talung or the folk performance of shadow puppets.
12.00 p.m. Have lunch.
1.30 p.m. Visit Wat Phra Mahathat, the main Buddhist temple of the city. Have coffee at Pixzel Caffe, a coffee shop near the temple.
3.00 p.m. Travel back.
