Tourism in Nong Rong Sub-district Communities, Phanom Tuan District, Kanchanaburi came from the union of communities in Nong Rong Sub-district in order to combine their folk wisdom and raise community’s awareness on how important the nature is. Forest in this area once faced denudation, but has now been restored by the villagers. Nowadays, the restored forest has become the life of the community. The villagers live together with forest in harmony and welcome everyone. There are many vines in the forest so the villagers use them for crafting accessories such as rings and bracelets to earn additional income.

Day One
8.30 a.m. Arrive at the community. Receive a warm welcome and then listen to the story of community’s forest. 9.30 a.m. Take Itak, a local transport vehicle, or ride a bike to participate reforestation activities. Go hiking in the forest. Then, make rings from golden vines. 11.00 a.m. Visit herb garden and try seasonal food and drink from the forest.
12.00 p.m. Enjoy lunch. 1.00 p.m. See the extraction process of palmyra fruit. Make sweet palm kernels and palmyra fruit in syrup (seasonal). 3.00 p.m. Learn how to make rainbow crispy rice with the locals.
4.00 p.m. Pick vegetables and fruits from farm. 5.00 p.m. Say goodbye to the community.
