Outdoor & Adventure History & Culture Hands-on Workshop
Spend a night in the Muslim village of Ban Talae Nok on the North Andaman Coast and experience this quaint way of life. Participate in handicraft and livelihood demonstration with your hosts. Fish from the beach with local fishermen and enjoy a local barbeque dinner on the beach. Feast on Southern Thai specialty dishes and learn how to make a local snack.

Day One
Start the tour in Kuraburi at the Andaman Discoveries office for a pre-trip briefing and cultural orientation. Transfer to Ban Talae Nok village to meet your host family, and be welcomed into their way of life. Take a walking tour of the community with your local guide to learn about the history and lives of these villagers. See an area of the village that was destroyed by the 2004 tsunami and learn how the community was affected.
Learn the art of Batik‐ dyeing fabrics by using designs drawn in wax ‐ keep it as a souvenir. Weave leaves of the Nypa palm with the villagers to make traditional roof panels.
Enjoy a spectacular Andaman sunset while eating a delicious barbeque dinner on the beach. Share stories with your host family. Overnight: Ban Talae Nok Homestay, comfortable bedding and mosquito net provided
Day Two
Breakfast at the homestay house. Take a tour through the mangrove forest and learn how the villagers are active in protecting this amazing ecosystem. Journey to the *Gam Islands and enjoy the white sandy beach, go for a swim and snorkel in the clear blue waters.
Have a picnic lunch on the beach.  Local fishing activity.  Handicraft workshop with the women’s soap group‐ keep it as a souvenir.
Relax on the beach for another sunset or learn the essentials of Thai cooking.  Try on traditional Muslim clothing and learn about their culture. *Gam Islands are available during dry season November ‐ April. For rainy season, enjoy an extended mangrove tour.
Day Three
Breakfast at the homestay house. Walk to the school for a panoramic view of the village.  Make a local Thai dessert – tasty grilled coconut wrapped in a leaf.
After lunch, Transfer Kuraburi, end of program.
