How do I book a tour with Local Alike?

How far advance do I need to book your tours?

As most of our tours are customized tours with the local communities, we require at least 14 days to arrange everything with the local communities. The local communities also need time to prepare all the activities and buy necessary materials and ingredients as well as arrange the schedule of the people in the community. Thus, we need times to coordinate all the necessary things in order to do our best for you.

Do you offer tours that does not require advance booking?

All our tours are decided to be personalized and customized based on your needs so they are required times to arrange and set up all the logistics and details for smooth operation. However, we have joined tours that you can join but these are based on the minimum travelers that will be on the tours, which sometimes there might be last minute cancellation. You can check by chat with us. with our travel consultants for the available seats for these joined tours.

What are the prices for your tours?

We have two different types of tours which are customized tours and joined tours. For our customized tours, our travel consultants will help you with any need that you want. However, the price of these tours will be different based on the numbers of people on this trip and specific needs that you may have. For our upcoming joined tours, please see the schedule on our Upcoming Tours page.

Is there a different price for children?

At the moment, the price for adults and children are the same because all the activities are the same for adults and children. The exceptions are with toddlers or children that cannot participate in the tour activities yet.

What are the prices for your tours?

We accept all major credit cards but with credit card payments, we require a booking fee of 3% additional per transaction. For money transfer, we do not have booking fee of 3% but for international travelers, we recommend credit card method for your convenience. For Credit Card payment option, after your itinerary is set, our travel consultant will provide you with secure payment link for you to book a tour with us.

Can I request special meals that will match my specific dietary needs?

Yes, we can accommodate special dietary requirements for you. Whether you are a vegetarian or have specific dietary requirements, please tell us in advance and we can arrange this for you with the local communities of your choice. We will work with the local communities to best serve you and your group.

What are the prices for your tours?

We value the safety of our customers and staff, whether it’s concerning heath regulations or any natural disasters that may occur. We base our decisions to run tours on the advice of national governments and official international advisories when it comes to safe leisure travel.

What are you doing to ensure high standards of health and safety on your tours?

Your health and safety, and that of our employees, is our top priority. That’s why we have adopted “Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA)”, which is the cooperation project between Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Ministry of Public Health, the Department of Disease Control, the Department of Health and the Department of Health Service Support, and so on. This campaign aims at elevating safety standards of Thai tourism industry, in order to ensure that both Thai and foreign tourists will have a positive experience, that they are satisfied with, and confident in the sanitation and safety standards of Thai tourism, while also aiming to prevent the spreading of COVID-19.

The evaluation methods and methodology of assessment for tourism establishments and services to be certified with the Amazing Thailand SHA certification will cover five key areas. This campaign aims at elevating safety standards of Thai tourism industry, in order to ensure that both Thai and foreign tourists will have a positive experience, that they are satisfied with, and confident in the sanitation and safety standards of Thai tourism, while also aiming to prevent the spreading of COVID-19.

  • Tourism establishments and services must strictly follow the COVID-19 control guidelines by the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health.
  • The safety of attractions and facilities with development plans or operation procedures that focus on ensuring tourist safety while maintaining local culture and promoting interaction between local communities and tourists.
  • Hygiene and sanitation in tourism establishments and services, such as, homestays, lodges, souvenir shops and restaurants.
  • Convenience, cleanliness, and safety of linkages between communities and attractions, as well as the safety and health standards of transportation, including private cars, public buses, and airlines.
  • The confidence in tourism personnel in tourism establishments, including tourist safety and security protocol.
 

As not all local tourist attractions are certified by SHA, if you are concerned about the health and safety, we recommend that you express this concern with our travel consultant so we can assist to your needs the best we can. This campaign aims at elevating safety standards of Thai tourism industry, in order to ensure that both Thai and foreign tourists will have a positive experience, that they are satisfied with, and confident in the sanitation and safety standards of Thai tourism, while also aiming to prevent the spreading of COVID-19.

Should I consider personal travel insurance for my trip?

We recommend that all travellers purchase comprehensive personal travel insurance especially if you are travelling internationally. This provides another level of protection for you while you’re abroad as this also covers costs due to flight delays or cancellations, lost luggage, healthcare, etc. Our travel insurance covers anything that might happen on your trip with us only. If you decide to purchase our cancellation insurance, it will protect your payments should you need to postpone your trip before your travel. Please note that this does not replace travel insurance.

12.

Can I book packages in 2024 or beyond?

Yes, we can take 2024 bookings for some of our tours. Please tell us what you are interested in by billing out our form and we will do the best to accommodate your needs. We will work with the local communities to best serve you and your group.
